WINDOW (or whatever) was the thin aluminium strips used to disable German radar. Not exactly ECM but right for the period.

Yeh that the code name for Chaff, and it doesnt shut down radar it just makes it look like there is a huge formation of bombers, and as far as i kno it lasts about 2-5 days, (depending on the alt. droped at) i could be mistaken, but mosquitos used to drop it alot (since they were hard 2 see on rdr and could get up2 350-400mph)

and HTC sould make the moss either not show up on rdr or just perodicly (1 evry 15secs. or sumthin like that)

It is a good idea seeing as how ground radar has a small circle were as if you had the TBM-3W you would have a larger radar range in connetion to the ground based radar:aok

OK, so a mossie ups with a WINDOW load out, flies to an nme field, drops it and you get three or four false dots which last, say, 20 mins. Do that a couple of times and you've spooked the nme field - until they realise the dots aren't moving.

It's a different sort of mission.

if we had jammer planes then we could jam enemy radio's and they would have to find the jammer plane and shoot it down and would be really enoying and hard to do so you would have to look closely to find the jammer plane or planes!:t
