Anyone have any experience with portable outdoor misting or fogging fans used to cool?

I need to find a way to give some relief to three crews who work over very hot surfaces in the Arizona heat and sun.

I've seen high pressure systems that require a pump, and I've seen low pressure stuff that can run off a garden hose. I can't have a lot of moisture getting on the ground.

Basically I need something that can cover about 600-1000 square feet.

Anyone here use these before?

Fire truck, 2 and 1/2 inch hose, spray em in the face.  Watch them tumble backwards.  :D

At only $30 a pop it might work out to be cheaper then those big misters

And you have the added benifit of them being able to keep working while staying cool rather then stop to cool off every ten minutes

All the more reason to get one of those personal cooling devices.

Think about it.
whats one of those cooling mister thingies you see at football games cost?
And you cant exactly have it on everyone at the same time.

So what happens. Every ten minutes or so people will stop what they are doing to cool off.
thats lost productivity, and money on top of what your spending for those misters.

If each person had their own personal cooling device. they could wear them while they work. No need to stop to cool off.

And lets face it. as soon as you bring one of those misting devices on the scene. People will feel the need to cool off even more often then when you had nothing there at all.

When Im working outside in the summer I dont even turn the AC on in my worktruck on the way to work or during lunch.
If I do it only makes the heat seem that much hotter.

Where I'm at in Arizona, the "summer" starts in May and lasts till the end of October.

We are dealing with some days @114 degree heat ( in the shade) as of last week, and the heat over the work surface is above 160.

In the middle of summer, our overnight low can be as high as 95 degrees.
