Correct Stars
« on: June 12, 2006, 07:34:13 AM »
It would be a more real sky if the constellations were correct.
I know that they really arent up all that long but, still it would
be better! How about a Moon also! We have a sun!!
This may all seem abit to some, but
I am a purious at a sims like this one! I think it all makes a difference in a sims as nice as aces high!!
Thanks!

maybe you are right and I was just flying during a new moon!
I wasnt a subscriber when they had the AH1. But if they dont have a Moon it would be great if the Moon and the stars were correct!!
And, speaking of weather!!! what happened to the clouds!!! Those cumulus that you can hide in!! The game for a while had those kinds of clouds! Rain! what happened to the Rain!! think getting carried away here!

We did have a moon in AHI. Also the nights were much better (darker) and longer. We lost most of the night and darkness due to the unpopularity of night fighting.

Wish we could have it back, but I do understand the reason for the change.

cheers,

I can understand the change at to the length of the night! The short night is a big plus! But lets have stars and a moon during that time!!

Yep! just checked.....we DO have a moon.

Go offline, in arena settings set evening to 24.
Then type in:

.time 00 00 1000

1000 being the time rate multiplier.....and watch the universe go by......:noid

I belive the sphere is correct.

But it does not take into account time of year.

The stars you see in the sky depend on your position in the globe and the time of the year. AH has perpetual "purgatory", time-wise, while there are days there are no seasons and no progression of time (other than the sunrise/sunset cycle -- it never leads anywhere) -- so choosing which stars to show would probably annoy some part of the player base, because it's not their set of stars :p

maybe fix it so "up" on the map is where the north star is?

Thanks for the reply!
It would probably take alot for the stars and moon to progress.
I do enjoy the realizism as much as I enjoy the sims itself.

But moon still too big and unnatural. As well as sun...
And real night sky has dark blue color not black, especially with full moon.

I though it weas a little un-proportional but in the new patch the sunlight
from the rear of the plane i though was very real!! the shadows o nthe ground when you are flying I though was very accurate.
