I like the Shoki for events. It would certainly give the Japanese another option for the mid-war fighting, even with the peashooters.

Theres another modle of the Tojo the KI.44-IIc which was used to down B29 bombers over japan, which I dont know if it means it had more 50cals, or maybe 4 cannons. Could someone look into the KI.44-IIc.

The Ki-44-II-Otsu would be a very nice addition.

Although I'm not a big fan of the rising sun ac. The Ki-44 just has a nice look to it. I'd fly it.

I'm reading a book on Japanese Aces now, and the one big complaint is that the  rides are all hideously undergunned.  Ki-44s weren't cannon equipped for the most part (either 2 x 7.7mm + 2 x 12.7mm or 4 x 12.7mm were the most common variants).

Stick with the Zero, or the Ki-84 if you like the Japanese rides (I do) - unless and until we see the Ki-100, or the 37mm equipped Ki-45 bomber killers!

4 12.7mm could do some good damage, if you got good aim. I would love to fly something like this. Good speed, alright armament, and maybe a bit more protection than the zero.

They added this godforsaken plane in FA awhile back with 4 x 20mm and a 37mm variant.

The japanese player base took to it exclusively and it made fighting the japanese horde very difficult excellent climb, good turn and awesome fuel/ammo loadout.

Eventually they removed the 20mm to be more historically accurate and had 4x 12.7 cals.   This made the plane more easier to deal but with AH's damage model it would still be a monster plane    so please DO NOT make this plane.

there are far more planes missing from a soviet perspective see other thread.
