I cried on that first post, then had my spirits lifted by yours Guppy, that is one beautiful restore. I hope to one day earn a bit of money to volunteer to restore a beautiful WW2 plane. I got to sit in a B-17 this weekend for instance, i was just driving along and happened to notice a unusually large cessna landing at my local field, i stopped and watched and as it appeared again flying over the trees right over my head clearing the fence to land, it was a B-17. I nearly had a heart attack. Turns out they were landing there to give rides. I drove over, hung out with the pilots and and went all through the plane for free, even got to sit in the cockpit for free. One thing i noticed sitting in the captains chair, the views out the window are exactly the same as they are in AH. I actually felt comfortable sitting in the pilot's seat and knew where the instruments were all over the cockpit and how to operate them. I probably could have started it. What if they had had these sims in the 1940's i wondered? Now i just have to get my additional plot's ratings and apply to fly for the airlines, maybe i can get a hold of one. I could feel the history just sitting in the seat. I still wish it was a P-38 that had landed instead though:D
