LOL Curval! I've seen that ad before, though not on this board. IIRC, there were complaints to the Press about this ad. Some people have no sense of humour. Could understand that if it was a German beer!
:rofl

Love this campaign!  I'd enjoy seeing more of them.

It's creative, it's proud...and it's amusing.

As for being 'offensive'...tough.  Shouldn't try to take over the world twice in one century.

If it were anywhere/anybody else, maybe there's an arguement for letting go of the past, and not rubbing peoples face in something.

To me this is a special case, considering the depravity and brutality doled out on a global scale, for the same purpose...  twice!  I'm afraid the guilt for two world wars will carry over for a while.

To me it seems like celebrating pride in an amazing national acheivement over unwarranted aggression is perfectly valid.

More if ya' gottem, please!

Always thoght the Carling black label ad was good

http://www.visit4info.com/details.cfm?adid=24268

the other "dambuster ad" with the german tourists running for the last sunbed
& the guy throwing the towel that bounced over the pool landed on the sunbed
unrolled and revealed a british flag
was even better but cant find that anywhere.

There was another Spitfire advert several years ago:

"Spitfire ale, shoots all fokkers down"
