I just got and installed a Sapphire x850 pro running the omega latest drivers and the performance is not as good as the 9800pro 128 that I took out, very disappointed. What could be going on, fastwrites are off and the agp is running at 8X. Thanks

Change drivers....also I have fastwrites enabled in my bios.  Also make sure vert sync is on.  That X850 has 16 pipes if I remember correctly and should scream.

I replaced a 9800Pro with and X800XT Al in Wonder with 16 pipes.  It screams.  Everything is smooth.  Also...what amount of mem do you have?
If you're running the HiRes Package you need at least 1.2 gig of system memory.  Skuzzy stated this awhile back.

Also...frame rate is refresh rate bound.  In other words your framerate will be no better then the refresh rate of your monitor.  Check your monitors refresh rate....if it can handle a higher refresh rate raise it.  Refresh rates usually listed in a drop down menu.....and refresh rates your monitor can perform are listed.  Don't try to force a higher refresh rate then your monitor can handle!

Will change drivers to ATI drivers and see if that makes a diff, Vert sync is on and refresh rate is set at 70 monitor max at 1280X1020 same as with 9800 pro. Am running 512  res same as before also, everything is set to same and I get frame stutters and fr lower, used to be 70 almost all the time and go to the 30's in furball. Got the new card thinking I could raise the sliders and run more quality in the video set up, as of right now thinkin rma and stay with 9800.

i had the 9800 pro and just put the x850 in my machine, my frame rates stayed the same, what i noticed is the eycandy is alot nicer looking now but i do get alot of warping, and studdering, expecially when changeing looking around in my cockpit. dont know if its patch related yet though?

ohh and im running the latest omega drivers, as well.

when was the last time you updated you nif file for your monitor?

I get the suttering too, but not so often anymore. FR are back to about normal now that I have the ATI tool tray running and maybe a little better in high furball and smokey fields. Eye candy does seem little better but not sure if it is 189.00 better Thanks
