Radio Channel List
« on: June 16, 2006, 10:16:05 AM »
Probably brought up before but, I wish for a list of all the Radio Channels and have them be differant colors if they are occupied, because it gets frustrating if you have 3 minutes untill your mission starts and your sifting through 30 differant radio channels trying to find one with nobody on it.

like this
100  occupied
101  unoccupied
102  unoccupied
103  occupied
104 occupied

Mission Channel being ".radio 4 6" I believe

Most players do not know about this channel, so it is rarely used. This is possibly because most players that join missions are still newer players that don't know everything about AH yet.

Perhaps a button to be added to the mission pages, where a player can click "automaticlly tune to mission channel"

OTOH, some players like to join the mission, but not in one of the pre-determined mission vehicles, or just as a gunner, and therefore not in any assigned vehicle.

When this happens, the mission channel is no good, because not everyone participating in the mission objectives can tune to it.

The mission editor is nice, but being the mission planner is sometimes a big pain in the butt, with people asking stuff like
"why no Spit 16 in the mission?"
"why DTs and not 500lb bombs?"
"Can you add plane X and then I'll join the mission"
"How come you only have 50% fuel selected?"
"Why do you have 75% fuel, that's too much?"
"Don't add the rockets to the Mossie, the rails make it fly bad"

Blah, blah, blah....

The mission channel isn't used as much as you'd think partly because once you die, you can't talk to the guys still in the mission.  There's not a good way to keep the group together as guys die off unless they use a numbered channel instead of the mission channel.
Easy in-game again.

I agree.. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if in the last year or more I ever joined a mission where 'Mission Channel' was used. Using an actual open channel is more appropriate and effective.

Exactly the problem with Mission Channel. I fly a lot of missions and we use a country channel just for that reason.
