Or Big Toys as my girlfriend calls them...

I saw a couple at Wallyworld, and saw them for about 40$, Had two different P47's, and a 190D9.

Ive seen them in my Historic Aviation Sales Magazine for about 10$ more, and they have quite a large selection, 109's P51s, F4U's P40's, P38's the usual Big Names in WW2.

My question is, they look like decent models, from looking at them in the box and on the internet. But are there better makers? I saw a List of Corgi 1.18th warbirds but saw no pics...

Anybody know if other brands make these big 1/18th Waribirds?

ahem...

My "Office" now has 8 of the 1:18 scale planes and 4 of the new 1:32 models. All are good, the newer ones are better than the older ones.

P-51D is the oldest. I think they've made an updated version that is much better.

I saw some of the 1:32 ultimate soldier aircraft, too, but for my "office" I want the bigguns

Bad Cat aviation is a good place for the higher quality ones...Blue Box toys is the brand off the top of the head. Wally world gets some ok ones as well!

I have most of the those as well, and the p-38, that has a few flaws but looks great.

The company is 21st century toys. The line the Xtreme detail.

They also make tanks in the same scale.

they have:
Panther
Tiger (multible models of both and the tiger comes apart so you can see the semi detailed inside.)
M-48A3 paton
Sherman
M-47
M3 bradley
and more.

MT is right the early ones are not as good as the current ones.

They even make a stuka and TBM.

I had not heard Corgi was going to do a 1/18 scale line though.

I saw the p-38 at the Chino airshow, but the guy wanted $70 and I just couldn't make myself do it...

I got it for 59 at Toys R us.

The big flaw is it has rockets in tube launchers like the early J model, but also the tree launchers that came on the L version.

Still a very cool toy though and huge.

Check out their line of AFVs too, they've got some great model Tanks, both static and R/C- including the giganormous M1A2 now sitting behind me.

Its great for scaring dogs and children.

I'm running out of wall space & shelfs! I have a 1:18th P-47D-11 few other odd things..

And on my way back from Alaska I stopped in Seattl. I wanted a Boeing tour but couldn't get on on short notice but I stopped at the Museum of Flight @ Boeing Field. Pretty cool place. I think it was a bit nicer than the Air & Space in DC.

I managed to pick up 3 charcoal drawn pic's of a P-47, P-51, & P-38. To complement my Oil painting litograph of the Enola Gay (Signed by Tibbets) Also have a few b/o photos of the Memphis Bell signed by Morgan. And few autographed books. I was like a kid in a candy store.
