Kill the referee!

Man, what a penalty he "saw"...I bet there is someone very very very high in the UEFA that loves Real Madrid, is the only explanation to the referees' classical "mistakes" towards Real madrid.

IF FC Barcelona had just half the "mistakes" the F*kin madrid has, we'd still be in Champions league...I still remember that valid goal in Leeds, nullified by the referee...

Bah...some teams are just for puking   real madrid is one

Just bumping this to point out that when you posted something that people found trivial in the grand scheme of things, EVERYONE else simply did not reply.

You deserve this lecture.

Deja, I've made such posts. Many have. it's not specific to RAM.

I didn't comment, even though I read the thread, because I didn't see the game.

No lesson to be learned here about that I think, and I  must say that life has taught me that many very valuable things just aren't appreciated by the majority of people. Whatever rocks your boat, go with what you enjoy and to hell with what the others might think.

As always, YMMV.

I believe what AK was referring to was the comments made in the thread about Dale Earnhardt. The thread amounted to a few friends discussing someone's death, their shock and disbelief, then some fellow burst in and told them to be ashamed for not instead expressing grief over the thousands of lives lost during recent earthquakes. While it may be we as people do ignore larger tragedy and focus on only our small pieces of the world, it was incredibly senseless to bring it up within an hour or two of the news. Ram himself knew he was going to get flamed, and did it anyway.

Put another way, you don't go to funeral homes and interrupt visitations to point out to the mourners that there were 3 disastrous earthquakes worldwide with huge loss of life, and that they should be ashamed of themselves for expressing grief over one person.

If you choose to misinterpret it, feel free to do it so, but I wont let this kind of thing unanswered.

I said clearly that I didnt want to do any disrespect against the dead car racer, but that I found both surpising and sad that ,immediatly after a racing pilot has died, someone posts about it on the forums, while during one month noone had done a simgle mention to the El salvador quakes.

I dont say a thing against posting a thread on a dead legend, I say that is sad that if a sports master dies, here people immediatly post a thread, but when hundreds of thousand poor lifes are lost, and millions of poor people are homeless noone says a thing about it.I stand viewing it as a sad thing.

IMO is food for thought what people find is a more important topic to post about. Someone said-and is right- that people stay watching about this kind of things in TV, but change channel when the quakes are reported. THAT is what I find sad, because THAT is the attitude I have seen here.

And even more, no thread will ever be like a funeral. So that is comparing oranges with apples.

BTW Dejavu, my original post on this thread was posted 2 weeks after the first quake, and one week and before the two latter. It has nothing to do with dead people, and as I said in the other thread I wont start any threads about dead people again on my own. I have my own motivations. Feel free to understand them or not.

Well, here I go, wading in and windmill-slapping all the way...

I said clearly that I didnt want to do any disrespect against the dead car racer, but that I found both surpising and sad that ,immediatly after a racing pilot has died, someone posts about it on the forums, while during one month noone had done a simgle mention to the El salvador quakes.

And what point do you think you would hope to accomplish? We are talking a mere few hours after the event, some had just heard the news and were trying to digest it. Some people were genuinely grieved by the loss and you couldn't allow a respectful amount of time to pass before pulling the topic way off course. Worse, you added an element of guilt on top of it all.

I dont say a thing against posting a thread on a dead legend, I say that is sad that if a sports master dies, here people immediatly post a thread, but when hundreds of thousand poor lifes are lost, and millions of poor people are homeless noone says a thing about it.I stand viewing it as a sad thing.

Let's not forget the "it's shameful" comment, or does that not count as "one thing"? I don't care if you like Earnhardt or don't, but you can't allow others to discuss their thoughts without laying a guilt trip on it? For that matter, is it ever allowable to discuss a single person's death, in your view?

IMO is food for thought what people find is a more important topic to post about. Someone said-and is right- that people stay watching about this kind of things in TV, but change channel when the quakes are reported. THAT is what I find sad, because THAT is the attitude I have seen here.

That is an incredibly ignorant statement. You want to browbeat people over an attitude you feel is wrong- you have no right to tell these people their grief is misplaced or inappropriate. Like your arguments about which planes are valid or not, which style of play should be conducted, etc. it is all Ram-centric.

And even more, no thread will ever be like a funeral. So that is comparing oranges with apples.

Wrong again. This was the equivalent of an "Internet Visitation". We are all spread all over this world, there is no way we could ever conceivably gather to mourn a death. The closest approximation is this forum. You were simply out of line.

Doesn't matter RAM.  People are dying all over the world, and in the middle of it, you chose to post about the tragic referees officiating this game.

And... in case you hadn't noticed.. both posts were about sports.  We were traumatized when a popular sports figure was killed in a race.  Here, you were traumatized because a penalty was called.  And you criticize us.

Is it sad?  Sure it is.  The whole thing is sad.  At least we weren't being pathetic.

And, while we are on the subject.  What is there to discuss about an earthquake?  A natural disaster where nobody is to blame?  Just how should it have been handled more appropriately in this forum?  Remember.. that whatever you come up with.. you failed to do yourself.

Is the attack on Iraq more of an issue than Dale Earnhardt's death?  Sure it is, in the global scheme of things.  Does that mean that fans can't mourn the passing of a sports legend?  No it doesn't.

The fact that you have trouble comprehending this leads me to believe you have to go out and experience life just a tad bit more.  Right now you give me the impression that you are a young child with too much knowledge and not a single clue.

Just putting some things straight, Mighty. Anyway I will keep an eye on the forums and maybe you see me answering some threads in the offtopic forums, and even in the airfraft&Vehicles If I have some questions to do.

But not in the other forums, though.

Its better this way, I think

Why hijack RAM's own thread about football?

If I have a problem with someone, I will say so in that particular thread...I will not jump on them whenever and wherever they post...it does no good to cary a big chip on one's shoulder.
