I seem to recall a discussion about this some time back. I have a question for those who play. Is this something you do for the purpose of gambling or is it all "free play money"? If it is free which one do you use? The "box" poker games seem to be rather static to me.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I play free money on PartyPoker just because I don't trust online gaming.:noid  Having said that, Sandy is right. People playing free money will make wild bets, especially in no limit games.

Not really true.   It just makes it illegal for any financial entity to tranfer money to a gambling company.  All it will do is make off-shore E-Wallet sites more popular as a intermediary.  Since the E-Wallet is not a gambling site, it will be perfectly legal for financial entities to transfer money to them.  Since the E-Wallet site is based off-shore, it's perfectly legal for them to transfer money to the gambling site....

i play for fake money on http://www.partypoker.com

it can be fun, got a few good friends on the circuit also.

real money games are alot more tactical of course, but essentially i trust it as a fair and cheat free place to play. you will find a mix of tables containing folls who bet randomly and serious poker players on the 50,000+ tables and games available.

I play (played actually...been several months away) on PokerStars.  Free money games are interesting and there is always a tournament going on you can jump into.  Been meaning to get back to playing, just haven't had a lot of online time.

BTW I go by clodkicker on there.

Terror is correct.  If you go through a third-party and not directly with a US Financial institution there is no law broken.

This whole bill was politics as usual for the US Congress.  It was tacked on to the back of an unrelated bill and shoved through Congress by the majority at the last minute before the election recess.  Vote for change.

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 was rammed through Congress by the Republican leadership in the final minutes before the election period recess. According to Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-N.J.), no one on the Senate-House Conference Committee had even seen the final language of the bill. The Act is title VIII of a completely unrelated bill, the Safe Port Act, HR 4954, dealing with port security.

Edit -    Hey  Terror,

I was so upset the 1st of the month. I wanted to vent , but I decided to avoid this forum do its err, popular "views". Besides this doesn't effect the people that play for play money and call themselves poker players.

I was playing the $5/$10 tables, then the wife caught me with a "substantial bankroll".    I now do the freebies.

I was 1/2 way to a WSOP Main Event buy-in.   She didn't find it funny that I was raking in the mullah.   Now, I told her that eventually it is something I want to do.

You dont, but on the money tables they watch for inconsistant play - stuff that is abnormal or ridiculous to catch cheaters of that type.

I was on last night at a play money table and my wife was there also.....she was blocking her screen from me so I couldn't see what she had even on hands I had already folded :rofl
