Why all the angst over endangered species? Don't these people believe in evolution? What would this world be like if every species that ever exisited and perhaps evolved into another were kept around?

"Conservationists say beetles play a unique and vital role in the planet's ecosystems, including burying the corpses of dead animals and pollinating flowers."

I guess THAT is the big deal.

I'm betting that these things are dying because of global warming.  But, not to worry....it's a natural cyclical thing.;) :p

Well, according to that article there are 4,000 species of beetle in the UK but only 250 of them "endangered". I guess the other 3,750 like warm weather. :p

Buglife director Matt Shadlow

What a sad sad thing to have for a career. Being a director of bug life.

Conservatives say Beet1e plays a unique and vital role in the AH Officer's club ecosystem, including burying the corpses of dead topics with nonsense and cherry-picking replies.

But some species have not been observed for years in threads with facts and data. For example, the beet1e was common in the gun threads and now he is only spotted doing drive-by posts.

"Other invertebrates seem to be suffering very badly; so it's not surprising that when we look at Beet1e, we find that there're problems there as well."

He said it was "imperative" immediate action was taken to preserve the astonishing variety of British beet1es before it was too late.

I heard that beetles are very suceptible to the fumes given off by diesel vehicles...  banning diesels in england is probly the only viable solution if you want any beetles ten years from now.

It may not work and the diesels may not be really causing it but..... can we afford to take that chance?   An england up to it's stiff upper lip in corpses in less than a few decades!
