i though a new surpirse would be like b29, or one of the other planes that we have been askin for. Rv8 shouldnt make the regular plane set because it wasnt in ww2 but at least hav it in the t/a to mess around wit. i heard it had 20mm vulcans on it(i heard im not sure). Somethin like the p80 shooting star would have been cool since it was beening flown during ww2 just not in combat. Whether i can play around wit it offline or in t/a great, i dont want it in m/a(its not a real ww2 plane) but i would like to see it again.

I don't want to see it again EVER. :furious
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

They look like 7.26 mini guns.  Those are small, electircally powered gatling guns.

Correction, they are small, electrically powered gattling guns that fire 1000+ rounds per minute! :O

The RV-8 is a nice plane for sure, but I takes a man to fly the RV-8A.

why is htc making a plane for one day when we dont have b29,p40n,ki43 etc.  And still they havent fixed all the bugs. A c205 hits me once in the wing and takes half of it off. I had a dam hellcat. I have noticed that about it, it comes of toooooo easy. Then we have my favorite problem, the ruber bullets. The list goes on. I thinks its just retarded to make a plane(that isnt real) for one day when there is still alot to add. I bet all of u can name 5 planes and gvs that they should add to the game rite now.

It probably took them all of one day to make it. The skin wasn't exactly detailed and weathered and they obviously didn't have to go out and find any combat or performance data on the thing.

Rino: That's what I'm sayin'! :)

By the way, how did it handle? Was it a spitfire clone? Any WEP? How fast?

I didn't fly one, but somebody typing on range (it's on my film, too; he could be wrong) was saying that it's WEP doubled the engine output and it climbed at 6,000 FPM. Other spots around the board say it turned inside a Zeke and did around 200 MPH in level, non-WEP flight.

That sounds about right from what I've heard.  A real RV8 cruises at about 200, climbs about 2500 fpm and could certainly turn inside of Zeke.  That's with a 200hp 4 cyl Lycoming engine, suppose if you give it "2xWEP" for 400hp you'd probably see the numbers everyone is quoting.

Why not concentrate on correcting known bugs in the game instead of turning non-combat planes that weren't even around during WWII into ConToys?

There have certainly been numerous requests for LEGITIMATE planes from WWII which aren't currently in AHII. Wouldn't it have been better - and just as much fun - to model some of those, then let the people at Con INTRODUCE them to the game? They would have the honor of being the first to fly the new models.

If non-WWII planes are allowed - and the other goofy things cons have produced in the past - and if the response is "lighten up and have fun" - then why not let us make and post ANY skins - you know - FUN ONES, too?

Why does one side of the mouth claim to maintain historical accuracy while the other side speaks like a clown?

Hey , I know - let's just start making up all sorts of crap; I mean the limits on historical planes have been lifted, so... Let's see flying doghouses called the Snoopy MkII, modified bats called the VH-8, flying bathtubs which can hold massive water bombs, small remote control fighters you can control from the ground to kill vulchers...

If we aren't going to stick to WWII planes, why stop with the RV8?

If AHII is going to be a somewhat historical WWII simulator, then STICK TO ACTUAL WWII PLANES!

And don't tell me to go somewhere else. When I started seeing a bunch of 1955-era planes flying about with gatling type guns, I logged.

If I want to play fantasy games, there are FAR better offerings out there than AHII.

I only live 40 miles from Dallas. Last night reminded me why I skipped the Con.
