Jameson is actually an Irish whiskey, as opposed to the others which are Scotch whisky - note the difference in spelling used - in the English language at least.

Famous Grouse is, I believe, a blended whisky. It's not bad, but the whisky purists insist that single malts are better.

Glenmorangie is single I belive. It's really IMHO not that much of a difference, but Glenmorangie is the smoothest scotch (WhiskY) I had.
Whiskey is normally much smoother due to a different distilling method, - more refined.
Oh, got to stop, drooling already :D

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

yup.. Jameson is irish and because of different destillery method compared to scotch it doesnt have that smokey taste, but still good in its own unique way.

Fishu.. your choise is noted :)

I have chosen to trade with my dad. he gets the bourbon i mentioned earlyer in another thread and i get to choose 2 of the above 4 mentioned in return. :)

So far, its a mixed crowd, but ill let you all decide what i pick

I thought Jameson's was only used in horrible drinks like Irish coffee?

Glenmorangi, Glenlivet... the ones harder to pronounce are usualy good too :)

JW isn't very good as far as blended scotches go, Chivas is much better. I liked Glenmorangie, but it isn't normally on the store shelves around here. I have some 18yr old Glenlivet that is smoooooth.

Makers Mark is good. Is that on the list?

Famous Grouse and Ballentines can easily be used as a "well" at any bar,  cheap stuff

Jamesons for me.

JW Red label from the list. It sucks, but there is no JD #7 on the list. :)

as far as blended scotch I would say usquaebach would be my choice but chivas is good enough on any occasion.  gotta agree on the just legal glenlivet it is indeed very smooth.
