Film Viewer (for HiTech and Pyro)
« on: June 27, 2006, 08:51:16 AM »
OK HiTech, Pyro,
You guys told me to put this here so here it goes.

Is there anyway to have the film recorder start automaticaly when you launch a sortie, record everything, and then when you tower out come up with a small pop up window asking if you would like to keep this film or delete it. If you want to keep it give us the ability to name the film whatever we want so we don't have to search thru several hundred films looking for that "ONE" shot that we wanted to see.  Thanks guys.

GREAT CON!!!!! You guys are a lot of fun and put on a great party. Looking forward to the next one.

As long as it is something you can toggle off (referring to your "automatically start" request), this sounds like a great idea.

IMO, the system asking you to name it when you stop recording is the most needed part of your request.  The rest would be a bonus.

i like it:aok , for some reason the film is never rollin on the sorites where ur just killin things left and right.

Haveing the option to keep it and name it in the tower at the end of the sortie sweetens the deal, :)

Please!  I HATE digging for my past flights!  Be nice to have a chance to name "GreatP38Flight" just after it!

This idea, with the option to turn it on or off, is a good one. I have so many films, that the few good/interesting runs get lost in the pile of pointless ones.

Yeah I brought this up at the CON and everyone jumped on it. HiTech asked me to post it here so they have a record of it. I think Pyro said doing the code to make this happen would be pretty easy so............

2 weeks maybe????:D

Oooooh I would actually have film going without me forgetting to turn it on.  I like the idea.  Too many times I have been asked to film some stuff and I keep forgetting to film it.  :aok

Love this idea. It would also eliminate having to sift through 3-4 hrs of footage to find that one great sortie.

Good because I always forget to turn my cam on, so I never get my GOOD sorties on film (6-kill hop in an FM-2 the other night. Dangit!) Bad because when I DO roll the camera I always seem to die five seconds after engaging. :(
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

So when r we getting this option? there isnt anybody who is goin to say no to this so i think its safe to say we are goin to getin it. I have the same problems saxman has:lol , ill up and not find nothin or get jumped and hav to punch out, or i bag 3 air to airs and kill 2 gvs and the film isnt rollin.  Only problem i have with this idea is that i have no patience...... i want it now:D .
