net status spikes, game stutters etc etc
« on: June 28, 2006, 10:04:38 AM »
why not tone down the eye candy,  fire, smoke, trees, other graphical BS and make the game more playable instead of trouble-some?  It's bad enough the internet impacts game play so why compound the problem??  Hitech you and your staff only make it more and more difficult,  every patch, update causes issues for subscribers that are either similar or in most cases different.  Been following the game since AH1 version and wonder why effort is not put towards more map variations instead of the same regurgitation over and over and over.  Just my thoughts.  Have a nice day!!

Well, at 1st i was going to give the standard whine treatment but, I'm in a good mood today.

1. You can tone down the eye candy in the graphics settings. Why should the rest of us suffer because of you.

2. The internet has very little to do with probems your PC has running the game. They are entirely different things.

3. Just like many other hobbies or sports if your serious about this game there is a certain amount of upgrading of equipment that is required to play the game well. That is just a fact. Compared to spending say $1000.00 to $1500.00 on golf clubs and more than that regularely on greens fees, as an example, spending $350.00 for a new system (I can built a good game box for that) and $15.00/month I would say that this game is a real bargain.

When release 2.0 came out I determined it was necessary to upgrade my system and did so. If for personal or financial reasons you can't do that then that's the decision you make and have to deal with it. Those of us who can and will upgrade should not have to have our hobby languishing in the past.

4. I am not a map builder but from what I have heard it is a very involved and tedious process. I would much rather have the HTC staff dedicate thier time to improving the game and developing aircraft than to map building. Maps are one of the few things that the community can produce so if your not happy with the existing maps (and who is) then give map building a try.
