By HT's explaination, you DID avoid him, because it didn't give you the message that YOU colided with him. The server awarded you the either because you got hits on him, or he died before you did, I think I heard the one who lives longest get the kill, but not sure on this.

Y'know, I think a good compromise on this whole collisions issue is to ONLY record a collision as having occured if BOTH front ends see it happen.

Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Nah... It's very rare that BOTH will, in fact the only time you will get that is HO, Hitech said in the con podcast files. Listen to 2 of 3 (I think that's the one) it explains collisions pretty well.

Also I believe Hitech mentioned (in the podcast) that the radius for instant kills in collisions is small. Outside of that, if they flutter to the ground, they're fair game. However if they blow up instantly you get the kill. It was probably an instant-explosion in this case. Either that, or he saw he was without wings and ejected immediately (thus giving you the kill).

Why do people get upset about Rams or Collisions. We all know it is FAR from a perfect system in the game. Deal with it and move on.

I think it isn't FAR from perfect.
