I'm sounding like a conservative?

Maybe I'm just getting old, eh?   ;)   :D

Fatty - that's a consequence of an easily abused system of assylum and, more specifically, immigration. Isn't this the chap who effectively 'stole' a mosque by intimidation then misappropiated funds donated by the people who used to worship there, for unknown purposes?

whatever you have done with the real dowding will be forgiven - just hand him over safely, stop posting in his name and we need not involve the authorities.

Didn't see that Dowding, but I did see they're so extreme they've been banned even from universities.  The London Times had a few sections on them as well as a link to the Al-Muhajiroun website.

The website is amusing in that on the very same page it praises the British muslims that have gone to fight against the UK and US, it criticizes UK authorities for unfairly targetting Al-Muhajiroun leaders for investigation

LOL fatty.

I like to think of Afghanistan as one big roach motel.  The more bugs it attracts, the more bugs we can kill.

Same problem here.

Even worse: these guys whine about not getting enough in welfare and that the danes don't wanna integrate with them.

Well, it's hard to interact with someone who has lived in Denmark for the last 8 years yet don't speak a word of Danish.

Even worse, these whiners complain about their welfare check. It's quite a bit more than I get. Then they ship toejamloads of money outta the country to their relatives and "non profit" religious organisations.

Yah, am fed up with it too.

Hhhhhmmm. I thknk we have a possible solution for that nasty immigration situation that I saw mentioned here. As far as those 3 "fighters" are concerned, Britain no longer has an undesirable immigrant taking up space in England. This could be the start of a new trend. Britain could render some additional support for future Afghani "fighters" by assisting them in moving to a Taliban location. This should be done with GPS coordination so that all sides know the arrival location and time. Mr. cruise missle could follow up the festivities on their arrival.   :)

I have no problem with people from ethnic minorities. I went to school with them, and some good friends from uni were Indian.

What I do have a problem with is people coming into this country, relying on the State for support and all the while bringing their hatreds and backwards thinking into play.

You want to come to this country? Then you accept we do things differently.

amusing when a lib starts to sound like a conservative   ;)

Hmmm... Do we have to brand everything "liberal" or "conservative"? It's just plain common sense. I am an immigrant myself. I have seen the system being abused and I agree with Dowding on this issue 100%. I resent paying for someone who, effectively, is a parasite leeching onto a very liberal society and milking it for what it's worth.

Dunno about UK but here in the states, it's the liberals who push such gov handouts to immigrants and our lazy ones who sit around saying "whoa poor pitiful me", not the conservatives who believe we should all carry our own weight.

thus the "branding" ...
When someone speaks as both you & Dowding are speaking, you are called a conservative here in the states. Insensitive to other's needs, blah, blah, bs, & more bs...

"It's just plain common sense."
as for the above statement - it is a trait lacking in many if not most of our liberal policies.

Shame it takes the onset of WW3 for some to see the light...better late than never I guess.

Well, here in the UK the system is so abusable that it's no wonder that millions are poured down the drain.

A refugee can wait for years for his case to be considered by the authorities. He/she aren't allowed to work for the 1st 6 months and are receiving government assistance to live on. He/she can work after 6 months but does not have to (nor is encouraged to for that matter). They used to get cash (not alot but more than an average unemployment cheque) - now they get vouchers (quite a daft idea). Housing tab is picked up by the local council of the area they happened to be in - I used to know a couple of girls leaving in a lovely flat overlooking Regents Park in London - £1,500/month all paid for... Many people are waiting for council subsidized accomodation to find that "fresh arrivals" jump the queue all the time. In the areas with high unemployment and poverty all this doesn't go down very well and tensions rise, especially when these unfortunate people are shoved in substantial numbers into a council estate somewhere.

They have no English nor desire to learn it/blend into a community, nothing to do...

In the aftermath all TV stations show some guy or other speaking through an interpreter    telling how much he hates people of Glasgow and that he want to go back to Iran as it is safer for him there... I do not justify actions of anyone who had nothing better to do but to knife that particular refugee (circumstances of the actual case are carefully avoided in all reports) but the whole situation could have been avoided altogether had someone at the Home Office had more brain power to organise the whole thing differently...

Extreme-leftist view? lol

What planet do you live in hobodog? Or more specifically, what kind of community? What's your frame of reference? I'd agree with you if you were comparing me to the views of an ardent neo-nazi, but compared to the opinions of most people in Britain I'd say my views are pretty moderate with a liberal slant on some, maybe most (but not all) issues.

I agree 100% lynx. The whole immigration/assylum issue needs re-examining and designing. At the moment it doesn't help the people it should help.

If you want to come to Britain and you have a genuine case for assylum, I'll gladly agree to my taxes being used to help you out. Hell, if you moved in next door to me I'll help all I can.

If you have skills valuable to this country and pursue a religion not in conflict with our laws, culture or way of life then you're welcome by all means. But you must learn English.

But if you're coming on a bogus assylum case, like the look of our social security system and think you can import your prejudices by creating some little enclave separate from the rest of Britain - forget it, you're on the next flight home.

It's a shame that 80% of all assylum seekers fall into the last catergory. This island is too small for it to be tolerated, as far as I am concerned.
