yes folks,

the wait is finally over.

The historic keyboard used by DD to type the immortal "Longbow" phrase "... **** airfields" in Air Warrior is available and open for bids...

Care to extrapolate to those of us who weren't there?

Hard to extrapolate.  More of a level of awareness, a frame of mind, a "happy place"

Nothing clever here.  Please, move along.

Command was to "shift airfields" Apparently I'm not allowed to post what DD (Dead Duck) typed instead...

The remarkable fact is the cheapskate still has the original computer equipment.

back in teh day when 3D warfare was fought in 2D. Those verterans still bare teh visible scars of self inflicted octal contusions.

I missed teh whole deal, but I remember seeing teh full page advertisement in some computer wholesale mag (was before teh game mag was invented).  THats why I finally bought a PC, to play tehg GHEYMS!!!!!!

Repeat Please?

I had 602 Squadron in the Spit IXs for that one  +Rino/Phan had 317 Squadron and Krusher had 443.  The Spit IXs had a good time early on....despite no drop tanks! :)

+Tiff back in those days.

I do remember that DD just about crashed an entire mission with that comment too :)

My favorite of all scenarios. BoB was my first ( the BoB run just before LB)
At that moment I felt my body changed. It was adjusting itself from normal life, to one that required long hours sitting in front of a PC. Padding was added for comfort in the rear end, and a table of sorts for resting beer on was added in the front.

One of our harder luck bomber groups was being hampered by a launch
bug.  Deadduck, being the Big Kahuna, suggested that they shift airfields.
Unfortunately his spelling was not up to par and much merriment was had
by the entire allied side :D

I can't even imagine how painful shiting an airfield might be. :rofl

As scenario memorabilia goes that keyboard has a LOT more appeal than one of Culero's seat cushions.

I imagine "Kill Westy" was typed more than once on that venerable kb.
