If you want a hook up with the Air Force, you are going to have to wait until i am old enough to join the Military...

(psssst.. Only SOB and DMF are serious.)

Lol!  Missed it on the first read through.

Anyway reynolds, you'll soon learn that as you grow older and gain more knowledge, you'll gain a good sense of humor.  Most of the stuff said in this thread is pretty funny.

The trick to finding something you like doing is to find something you like doing.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do either.  I looked at a bunch of stuff like straight service, or Annapolis or the Coast Guard Academy.  But when it came around for crunch time, the thing I enjoyed the most was actually the business my father is in.  The classes in my major (as oppossed to those not directly in my major) are actually quite fun.  They do not require a direct caffeine drip into my neck to stay awake and are quite engaging.

One of my father's friends who is also a builder one day decided he wanted to go to medical school.  So he did it and now has his own medical practice which is pulling down hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

Another of my dad's friends (builder too) decides one day he wants to be a teacher.  So he pays for his own education and comes out on the other side teaching High School in my area.

Hell, at one time I considered being an olympic sailor.  I still might be able to do it, but it's currently about middle on my priority list.  That doesn't mean I don't do anything with it.  Like I said, I'm the captain of my school's sailing team.  I race more then anyone else and push the hardest.  Don't ever let anyone talk you into not doing it or trying.

Thanks, I know what i want to do. I cannot live without flying, and i can think of no more honorable way to do it than to fly defending my country. And I know its kind of funny, im just asking for real information here, there are some times when jokes are warranted, but this isnt one, and it would be oh so very nice if people would please recognize that line, and follow it. I like jokes, i just tire of never hearing a serious word out of these people. Its rather irksome.

I'm an F-16 Eagle pilot.  I have done two tours of duty over Iran.  Theres no greater feeling in the world than the glorious honor of combat.  Lighting the turbos, locking the bogeys up on radar, then letting those Phoenix missles fly!  YEAH!

In all seriousness, if you want to do something with your life, get an education.  Sure, for the most part learning is boring.  But so is mining for gold.  Education=Success.

I'm a farmer up in cold Iceland.
Done a few other jobs, - before and while. Farm stuff in the UK and Germany, Student in Sweden, Horse groom with Cargolux, Fish industry worker, Machine contractor, Spares importer, and the Icing on the cake, an extra in a Clint Eastwood movie.
With Wife and 2 kids, AH playing is difficult, but when the cold turkey kicks in and I get snappy, Wife sends me to the computer and sais "Go fly".
In a killing mood, I usually return 1-2 hrs later with a wicked smile on my face :D
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
