Author Topic: Lead computing gunsight for GV's (Read 659 times)

I went into the arena setup for the offline training area and turned on the lead computing gunsight. This has really helped my shooting. So I thought I would try it with an Ostie. Problem is the lead computing gunsight doesn't work for GV's. No green cross. Is there a way to turn this on?

I just tried it in Ostwind, main gun (pos 2)..... its worked for me.

Did you toggle the LCG with TAB?

Yes, I did. I got the box around the target icon so that was working. But the green cross never came up. I will try it again tonight but it was working okay in flight.

Tried it again last night and it worked. Still don't know why though cause I didn't do anything differently.

Also, still couldn't hit a darn thing even with the lead computing sight turned on. Used the target command to set a target at 800. That darn Ostwie sprays all over the place. Beats me how anyone can hit anything consistantly with it.

There is a cetrain amount of scatter but not much at d800. Where you in neutral while fireing?

The lead site is only available in the T.A. and offline.
Btw...since ya left the 50 cals have been reduced to BB guns :-(

awrabbit, you can go to the Training Arena. It is enabled there.

While in the air or GV look at a friendly aircraft and hit ctrl + tab. This will lock onto him. Hitting tab again will switch targets that are in view. You can even look behind you and hi-light the guy on your six. This is usefull when practacing force oversoots and scissors.

Before you shoot anyone, ask if they will be you practice dummy. Or bring a friend so you both benifet.

You can also do it off-line with the drones, but they don't evaid well.
From the clipboard- click options, Arena Setup, Enviroment, and Arena Settings. Scroll to FlightModeFlags and dubble click on it. Check the Lead Computing Gunsight and Dive Bombsight(if you like) and click OK. Then press Save if you want it that way evey time you go in the offline game.

For enemy planes it Shift + Tab to enable and tab to switch targets.
