screen freezefollowed by disco

Okay here's what is happening.
When I go into the hangar to change ords, the screen freezes and I then get dicoed.
The same thing happens shortly after takeoff.
I'm able to use field guns for longer periods up to about 15 minutes, then screen freeze, radio vox gets caught in a loop, like a broken record, then lost udp.
Where do we need to start on trouble shooting

BTW here's some history. I had an internet connection p[roblem that took me away from the game. I had to remove malware, and browser hijackers. Afterwards I reinstalled windows, but couldn't reconnect.
I've had comcast out to poke around, after buying a new bb modem and now I have a strong internet connection.
It is now, on the current patch, that I can't play the game without the above issues.
I played the game fairly smoothly prior to removing malware, and reinstalling windows xp.

SO...
where to from here?

More than likely its a driver issue, my first guess would be sound card.  Post a copy of the Direct X diagnostic so we can see hardware and drivers being used, best place to start.

Start menu -> Run -> type "dxdiag" into the dialog box (without the quote marks) and hit enter.  When the direct X diagnostic utility starts, go to the last page and there is a button that says "save all info".  Click that button and save the text file somewhere easy to find (usually keep mine on the desktop).  Copy and paste about the first 1/3 of it here, enough to show the devices on your computer and the drivers for them.

Audio driver probably needs updated, mine is the same but a year newer.  Also try turning down your hardware acceleration on your sound to no more than 3/4 instead of Full.  

Then just to be safe I'd reinstall Direct X as well, to make sure none of the DX files are corrupted.

I've now done all of the above. no change at all. I used to be able to stay well connected. I'm getting ready to say screw it, and terminate my account.

Only other thing i can think of is to reinstall Aces High, in case the install got corrupted somehow.  Unless you've already done that.  Unless Skuzzy has some ideas.  Wish I could be more helpful.

I think it may be a windows problem.
Twice it froze last night/and/or failed to intitialize and left the following error messages
the first:  C:\DOCUME~1\Elliott\LOCALS~1\Temp\ed1f_appcompat.txt

the second:  C\DOCUME~1\Elliott\LOCALS~1\Temp\3ee1_appcompat.txt

Now I don't have the first clue what that means, but these were the error report messages sent. I couldn't find a way to copy the other info.

If you haven't already done so, try this...

Go to control panel, select Windows Firewall, click on the exceptions tab and click "Add Program" and add aceshigh.exe.

I would think if its a firewall problem it wouldnt let him into the arenas.  

I guess it could be a A/V thing, since it interferes with the individual packets.  Could be a overheat issue too, but if there was no problem there before I doubt it just suddenly cropped up.  Unless there have been hardware changes as well?

Windows firewall is disabled completely. The only new hardware is my lyksis bb modem. My connextion is good there.

Main thing I see in common with the people in that thread linked was that they have all kinds of stuff running in the background while they are gaming.  Could definitely cause problems with a game like AH that uses so much CPU attention.  

Since this was a fresh Windows install I didnt really go that direction, but ...............

Running any programs in the background while AH is running?  P2P or file sharing?  Anything?
