You are right - they are not ;)

The Wirblewind has "true" anti aircraft guns, it´s the infamous Flakvierling 38 mounted on Panzer IV chassis. The guns are comparable to our Hizookas, if not even a bit more powerful (have to look it up again). Theoretical rate of fire was about 1800 rds/min, but practical was "only" about 800 because each barrel had 20shot magazines. If we really ever get this devastating vehicle, I would like to see the rate of fire properly implemented, so that one cannot blaze away as if the guns used 1000-shot belts

In all fairness a lot of A/C can strafe me down with 2 or 4 20mm cannons and sometimes some 30mm's, so why can't I have them too:)

You know having come from belt fed cannons (M2A2 Bradley gunner) that the reloading thing might ease some fears from folks about this fire hose on the ground.

But with a proper reloading of the magazines this could really work.

I am not sure how they did it....wait till all are out? Did and can you fire all 4 cannon at the same time?  I know we dont have it, but gun barrel heating needs to be modeled, at least for this vehicle.

Also about the reloading time thing.

After all the ready ammo (loaded into magazines) was used, how long would it take to reload a 20rd magazine with 20mm rounds?

Just thinking out loud ;)

This is a picture of the Flakvierling. The loaders are sitting to  the left and to the right. Note the additional magazines at the base of mount.

Usually only two barrels were fired at a time, whilst  the other two could be reloaded, resulting in a steady rate of fire. But if desired,  the gunner was also able to shoot all four weapons at once.

And here is a good picture of a Flakvierling mounted in a Wirbelwind turret:

Note the empty racks for additional magazines.

I just tried to look up a few numbers. A single Flak38 gun had a  theoretical ROF of 480shots/min, so a 20 shot magazine would be empty after 2.5 sec of fire. The practical ROF is about 220-240 shots per minute, so swapping magazines should also take about 2.5 seconds, too
