O.K This Is A Great Idea
« on: July 10, 2006, 07:57:33 AM »
This my take some time for me to explain, but bare with me.

I do a lot of very pointless, but always over the top missions for the Knights every now & again.

It gets really boring seeing every plane with the same skin. This gives no personality to the mission itself .

So say you selected A P-51D, let it load up the skin you already have in the hanger instead of the default.

If you read that without getting confused, then a medal awaits you. What do you think ?

makes perfect sense...

in fact, enough sense to have been requested quite a lot:p

i'd love it personally, although infact, i'd rather the mission planner was able to select the skin for each unit:)

Personalizing skins for each player

maybe i could personalize a skin that would apply to whatever aircraft i flew

does that make sense??
you know design a skin for yourself and it can apply to all aircraft
 dam im confused now
:O

No, no, no, you are missing the point. Let me simplify.

Mission = default skin only.

Mission + skin loaded in the hanger = skin for the mission.

kaz that's a very simple way to go about it, not bad :)

either that or let the mission planner pick the skin in the mission planner (so you all look like one historic unit)

This has been asked for since skins came out in AH2 -

The ability to assign skins in missions, even down to different skins for different flights.

Big miss at the moment.

wow, that picture reminds me of Waffen's raids back in AH1.

different paint schemes would be great for oganizing sub-units within missions.

I'd like to see this in the next patch too...I like the idea a lot, and cant imagine it would be much work at all for HTC to change

Bumping another oldie but a goodie.    Maybe a good way to go about it would be to allow the mission planner to decide whether everybody gets the same skin (custom or default) or if each player can use whatever skin they want.

Has HTC ever commented on this?

I understand what you are saying.  I plan a good deal of missions but the skins for any one flight is always the default.

I like 110's alot, but I like the skin by wraith, the white russian front one.

Anyway, yah :aok

I know a lot of people go with the mission, do not join it because they want a certain skin

and the winner of the "people with wayyyy too much free time" award goes to...
(drumroll) ... morons who don't join missions because they want a certain skin.

i like the idea of being able to plan them for missions though. definately.

Big :aok

The skin could simply be the one you have selected in hangar?
