Did he say hold my beer before he jumped?

Future Darwin awardee I'd bet.

Old video. It's one of the French SoulFlyers.

Their newer stuff is more intense - zig zagging making 90 degree turns a meter off ridges. It's really pushing things and others have followed. BASE jumping has evolved a lot. Soul Flyers II is a good exampl of it; these are the guys pushing the limits.

Unfortunately, one of them was killed in a car accident not long ago.

I'll let you judge "Darwin Award" or whatever you desire. It is not easy for the average whuffo to get a glimpse of the strong desire for life and the intense nature of the individuals involved. There are a billion ways to die and it only takes one of them.

Some wants safety and a plan for every stage of life and enjoy the predictability that comes with it - for them that is the good life. Others want more Oomph. I ain't gonna judge the average citizen for his or her lifestyle in the same negative way that they judge mine.

After all, it's trying to reach the same objective by different means - a good life well lived.
