The AKUAG (Airborne Kitchen Utensil Assualt Group) is a small, organised squad from New Zealand, and Australia. We are on the lookout for potential new recruits to our fold.
Why AKUAG?
- If you fly in the Aussie/Kiwi evening timezones, you will likely have a wing to fly with.
- Regular training and operations evenings.
- Small squad which gives you personalised 1 on 1 training.
- You get to choose a silly name like "NutCracka" or other silly kitchen utensil name if you like (optional).
- Experienced/vet CO (me) with over 6 years of WW2 combat sim experience (Warbirds II, Aces High, Aces High II, MSCFS2).
- Usefull analysis tools to help you learn the planeset, and analyse your peformance based on pilot statistics.
- Squad has lite, non-authoratarian structure (except for squad nights).
- Freedom to fly whatever plane you choose, but my background is in flying very fast aircraft like the Mustang, Tempest, La7 etc and so training is oriented towards tactics for those sorts of a/c (BnZ, and Energy tactics over angles tactics). I would encourage the use of the P51 mustang as its an excellent all-rounder.
- Survival oriented. We Emphasise survival of your virtual pilot as much as possible rather than the prevalent furball, tower, rinse and repeat mentality.
- Friendly but dedicated people.
We accept complete N00B's and vets alike, but you will be 'trialed' for a couple of tours to ensure correct fit for both yourself and our squad. Dont let that put you off, the decision to add you to the permanent roster is not necessarily based on combat skills.
