Pearl Harbor will officially open the Pacific Aviation Museum on December 7th 2006.  It will be on Ford Island at the old control tower and hangars.  I just got off the phone with them, put in my name as a volunteer.  I dont care if they need someone to sweep floors while they work on these things, I WANT IN!!  lol  The curator said they have lots of volunteers, but maybe a chance I can get in next month or September, as they get closer to opening.

They are putting together a A6M2 right now, and have a F4F-3 on the way.  I think I died and went to heaven.  :)

The Zero being trucked in.  Here's a link to the story on the Zero.

The newsletter says they have been donated a F-14D for the newer portions of the museum too!

Who knows, maybe this Japanese bird had bullet holes from a VF-17 or VMF-214 Corsair!  *sniff*

I dunno, they don't much like having zero's fly around Hawaii much. Better to truck it in.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
