Trading Bases
« on: July 13, 2006, 01:51:47 AM »
Just logged out of MA due to boredom. No fights to speak of, just 7-8 hordes taking undefended bases. Seemed like an equal number of hordes on all 3 sides-

Is taking undefended bases more fun than a battle? Or is it that no one wants to have there pixels get shot down?

I just dont get that big of a thrill hording undefended bases while just a sector away the NME is hording an undefended friendly base. To me the game would be alot more fun if the hordes would face each other. Sure pixels would die, and maybe no bases would be captured- but there would be actual ACM! Just imagine it!

It seems to be a late night trend- I hope it changes, but I wont hold my breath:(

i'm sure you can find a fight if you defend one of those bases

word! nightshift.

our squad has been moving 2, 3 even 4 sectors infront of the horde to stop the anti-vulchers coming in high, and to enable the capture.

good fun recently, and great new map.

I've tried defending, but you see the offensive is usually a horde of 10 or more. I'm not a bad stick, but I'm no match for 10 players. I call out the incoming horde but its as if no one cares- or is brave enough to help.

Maybe I'll fly a faster plane, attack the NME horde, then drag the guys that attack me, back to the closest friendly horde- Seems lot alot of work just to have a decent battle take place-  I'll let ya know how it works

Thats why I like the big maps, in fact the bigger the better. Especially donut as it gives the guys who like fighters their own little world. Which means the rest of us who like other things can get some enjoyment. lol

LOL yeah all they are basically doing is just swapping unoccupied bases lol, its basically a race to see which side can take them the quickest lol

I call that the milkrun merry-go-round or the horde shell game. Sure, one guy can up to fight the horde and they'll happily gang-gang him, but if enough people up to prevent a speedy capture the horde will simply fo-geta-bout-it and pick-up toys to some other undefended field 15 sectors away. This is what most of the HUGE maps are all about...NON-Fighting. Personally I just find something better to do with my sparse free-time.

To be honest, i prefer the bigger maps too. Simple reason: The green planes are spread out a bit more. On the small maps its very often 2 or 3 horde vs horde to choose from.

Much easier to find a decent 3-5 vs 1 on the big maps.

Tonight it was really easy to find fights. It is a matter of staying near your field and you will see a few cons or go to theirs and see alot. Personally the conga line gets old so I spend most of my time being outnumbered.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Lol as always you guys in fighters cant see further than your joystick. This game is not all about you. Others pay the same amount...there are gvs and boats and buffs in this game as well ya know. where do all those fit into your non base taking big furball mentallity. Like I said I love the donut map as it keeps all of you guys occupied and out of my way lol. Take me... as an example... I never fly fighters I just am no good at it... but I like trying other things in the game... most times you will find me outnumbered defending a base, or running onto a defended base in a tank. Undefended ???? I think you guys must be on at a different time of day to me. In the year I have been playing I have never took an undefendedd base or for that matter ever found one. If you like fighting so much just find me lol I am always getting beat up and ganged from the moment I log on but I love the action .Personally I dont get the idea of taking off from a base with lots of others to dogfight with no objective over a huge central expanse of water. Vulching a runway with lots of cap... skillful ???? and why cap a field if you aint going to take it ????. BUT....BUT.... I respect your enjoyment and skills that I dont posess. Its your money and you do what you like with your time but please respect others enjoyment and dont be so quick to degrade it.  This game has alot more to it than dogfighting and is developing more all the time. On that note I guess then that means none of you will be in operation downfall trying to take bases, I mean that is the whole objective to the scenario. :lol
