volching the runway
« on: July 13, 2006, 02:55:08 AM »
Hey I've done it and it's fun
but
won't it be nice to even up the stakes
one way is to enable the bombers guns
but only enable to bombers guns while the bomber is in motion on take off
and can defend its self from volching
that way the bomber is not just an airfield anti aircraft gun
after all a pt boat can open up without going anywhere and vehicle can do the same to defend them selves

After all the volcher always has the option to bugout if things get hot

just a thought

just a err, little hint, it's vulch not volch ;)

as for the idea, it doesnt work like that, you'd get everyone upping and ackstarring the base. it was the scourge of air warrior apparently. HT has made it the way it is for a reason, and it's good like that:)

I'd like it more if there was another gv hanger on every airfield, as well as more field guns. Small air fields are shut down way to easy IMO.

I know this is a game, but using bombers as AA is a bit much.

Oh, and if you talk to GHI it's "Voolch"

Buff guns used to be enabled when buffs were on ground.  It became darned near impossible to take a base unless you flattened the entire thing because everyone would up in buffs and be an instant AAA ackstar.

It was so bad at times with so many buffs on the runway that everyone's frame rate was like 3 or 4.

Also, enemy fields would get de-acked and people would land buffs at the enemy field and it was a giant AAA ackstar fest there too.  Imagine 15 sets of buffs (both freindly and enemy) sitting on the ground all over an airfield shooting away at each other.

It was done, and it didn't work out well.  Admittedly, it was funny for a while, but it impeded game play extensively.
