Very cool. However, I would feel a lot better if they had chose something more challenging than a SCUD for the target.

Gotta crawl before you can walk....with the missile threats from N. Korea, (6 scuds and a dud) it may allow for a more rapid development process. Hopefully within a few years the capability to intercept and destroy incoming ICBM's. The question then would be, should we share the technology with other nations (ie: Japan S. Korea).

We already did. Japan helped us develop the technology.

An ex-co-worker's husband, Bill Hendricks, was the Head Engineer & Director of the THAAD program. Unfortunately he passed away last year. However, I know his wife is very proud of the work that he accomplished on this program. I'm happy we have this technology...but I think the money would have been better spent on pudding-pops for the homeless.

I dunno, i think he has a point. Where is all of it going to go? Candyland? I don't think nuculear particles are just going to float off like butterflies.

Pudding pops are high in fat and calories, you would be acused of a hate crime against the homeless.

The THAAD missile system was designed by Lockheed Martin, and several company employees and system designers were on hand to witness the test.

LOL; I may be the only one that believes this.

When all this N.Korea missle test stuff started & I heard the proponent & opponent talking heads saying if we shoot at it & miss we'll look like fools & if we hit it it's an act of war!

I told my wife; "Just wait & see what happens, all these people who are blabbing about patriot missles don't have a clue. That missle will lift off, get over the launchpad high enough for it to be seen from a couple hundred miles over the horizon & THIS will be orbiting queitly nearby, no anti-missle missle launches, no big huhbub. If they hit it, it'll go down as a dud & if they miss, no one will even know they shot at it."

I love being smarter than everyone else (jk)

I've actually seen this up close and person and in fact saw it take "first flight" Too bad they have yet to integrate any of the laser components into the air frame yet.....this was as of about 6 months ago.
