AH vs IL2 vs WB3 vs WW2OL

Why?

Why if you think these other games are so much better WHY don't you just vote with your wallet and leave the rest of us to enjoy things in Aces High.

When I left Warbirds after playing it since the CK beta days I LEFT. IE... I've not been back, I've not been the AGW and posted irritating and flaming messages there.

When I decided I didn't like WW2OL... I LEFT. IE I've not been back the their boards posting irritating and flaming messages there.

So to people like Possi, and fscott, if you like a sim so much, fine. But why do you have to poke your heads into HTC's BBS so often and spout what is often no more than something a bulls-butt produces.

Why do you find it necessary to hang around like some sort of voyeur?

HTC have done a great job of AH. I don't need some twit telling me what to do or that the game I enjoy is crap, especially HERE. If I don't like Aces High I will leave of my own accord. As I did with WB and WW2OL.

If you love these games so much, please go play them, please stick to your own boards. I'm sick of seeing valueless posts from non-AH subscribers.

All flames aside, discussion is a good thing. I think most people are simply trying to share information (obviously, some do like to be disruptive about it....and usually go away when ignored).

But cross-game discussion has always been a big part of the sim community.  That's why off-topic forums were set up. Every sim I have ever flown in, I found out about in another sim's forum.

I certainly would not call most of what I read here and other forums as "valueless"  whether the author is a subscriber or not.

I heard about aces while flying with guys from red baron 3d.  And now I’ve found il2 because of conversation on this BBS. Just because you check out new games doesn't mean you need to stop playing other games or chatting with people from those games.

But I do think that a lot of guys take this stuff WAY too seriously. I find it hard to grasp why anyone (short of owning stock in a particular company) would get so upset over somebody’s opinion of which game has best features or more accurate FM

"Discussion" or news is one thing... poking their heads in too say "your FM is wrong ours is right AH Sucks and I'll never play it" is the stuff I'm talking about.

There are some noteable names that keep popping up. These people often have nothing of value to add to the community here, and more than often are not subscribers.

Its kind of like the difference between a post like "WW2OL's Icon system rocks" (ie pointing out a great idea) vs "Too many heads are burried in the sand" and "The different is: IL-2 is more and more realistically as AH! In all Points.", and even this treat: "I almost feel like cheated because I played AH for so long. Impossible to do better cockpits, impossible to model different rounds, no HA for almost two years, no metric system, ultra simplistic engine management. Hell, how wouldn't I come here and rub it again and again ?"

What I'm trying to say is if you don't like AH this much, deal with it, just don't hang around like a tyre-kicker at a car yard!

I think you're pushing this a little too far now 3rdUp. People know you poke me that way on the Kraits board, here it sounds like the truth which it is not.  

 Now if AW was even in this topics subject line  (see? people just don't even consider AW as even being competation any more) your comments could be considered correct -  for about a year ago. Since then with the actions of EA and most FR flyers migrating to AW or WB's anyway there's no one left at AW to share the good news with.
