...and facing 70 years in prison.

One of the former "lads" at the juvenile unit where I work committed a murder last December.  We received word a few days ago that he had been sentenced to 70 years in prison for the crime.

The sentence wasn't unexpected but was a bit stunning nonetheless.

Not allowing for the possibility of parole, that comes to 840 months...or 25,550 days behind bars.

He still has down on his cheeks.

So that means that he will spend the rest of his life in prison. Able to kill and do what he pleases for the next 70 years.

Why?  The person he murdered never will again.

The parents of that murdered person will never enjoy his company at a holiday dinner, nor be able to look to him for help in their old age.

Let him rot until death overtakes him, then let him answer to the Almighty.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

How old was the victim? The convict should serve as long as the victim remains dead. He robbed the other person of their life through unlawful murder, why should he maintain his own in freedom?

Being that the victim is no longer able to live, I don't really think he should be able to live.  That and it saves tax dollars.

Picking on the weak. Say good night gracie and turn out the cell light. No pity for the convict here.

Cripes, what is it with this "awww, I feel bad for the murderer" crap nowadays?

Shuckins, your associate is a murderer.  He didnt give his victim the second thoughts you're giving this waste.

Feel bad for the victim.

Whatta dumb post.

LePaul,

I didn't get the impression he was feeling sorry for the convict, just that he was so young to be so stupid. I could be wrong.

Aye, my step brother was 16 when he was put in a juvenile detention center for stealing cars, he's 23 or 24 now, still in prison facing parole this October.  So young, so dumb.  Unlike me *cough cough*:p
