Well, the game DOES recognize a difference. Bullets hitting water splash, PTs and Task Groups can only run on it, and the way LVTs handle differs, so it IS a little more complicated than just being a texture.

Wakes are pretty fubar as it is. Many times I'll be flying near or taking off from a CV and I'll see the wake in the air ABOVE me (or more annoyingly, around me making it dammed near impossible to see :p ).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
