Wake from Planes

When a PT Boat is moving across water, it creates a wake behind it, as well as causing splashes to form infront of it. LVTs and ships in task groups do this too.
Can you make it so that all objects that are moving across the water's surface do this? Doesn't seem like it would be hard, just take properties from ships and put it into all objects (planes, barges, etc.).

This way if I run out of fuel and am forced to ditch at sea, I will see splashes as my plane skids across the water.

What, you don't notice the metal-on-concrete squeal?

How about a fix to that sound effect so it SOUNDS like you're plowing into the water?
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I love this idea. I think it would be easy to add. Good way to get your plane cleaned, but it be most likely salt water. Could we add fresh water and salt water? J/K!

I agree, but from what I can tell the game don't know the difference between land and water. It is just a water texture on the grid. I guess they could do a .. on crash if texture=sea play watercrash.

No, that IS a 38. No skids tho.

As for water...

Well, the game DOES recognize a difference. Bullets hitting water splash, PTs and Task Groups can only run on it, and the way LVTs handle differs, so it IS a little more complicated than just being a texture.

You can clearly see the shadow behind the water and you can see where the water starts to break in front of them, maybe i'm losing my mind.  Plus the use of flaps, unless of course, there is a runway just a little ways off screen.

Oh...OH, we need flooded fields then too, because it would be fun landing a heavy bomber on one.  Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The problem I see here is that the ake is built into the object that makes up PTs and ships. However, it seems that the LVT can tell when and when not to have a wake, so I guess I just mooted my point. Oh well.

You can test that first sentence by getting a PT airborne. If you run it into a carrier just right, it'll be flung into the air, and the wake will follow it up and make a wake in the sky.
