why is it the JU-88 can launch with no ords but the other bombers cant. i think being able to launch the other bombers without ords would be nice to do too.

That reason is because the Ju88 is a bomber/dive bomber. So if your ganna dive bomb you wouldn't select the internal bombs, you would get the external bombs. If your level bombing you might not use the external bombs, but you would us the internal bombs for bombing. Basically with the Ju88, you can choose not to have certain bombs, and you can choose to have certain bombs for a certain mission. The other bombers don't have this kinda roll as the Ju88 so they always have bombs. Just take a B24 and drop the bombs on the runway. They won't blow up.

cant do that if the ords are down. which is my point. if they are down you can up ju-88's but not any other bomber.

SBD, IL2, D3a and the AR234....are also available without ords

Yet the A-20 isnt???????? The A-20 has 8 forward firing MG's...With its forward firing guns it is able to gun down barracks, ord bunkers, fuel bunkers, and radar...It is also able to kill Jeeps, M3's, M8's, and can turret ostwinds, basically rendering them useless unless they are guarding a map room with their pintle gun...What I just stated makes the A-20 a legitimate attack aircraft to be flown without ords...If for anything, atleast a more legitimate attack aircraft without ords then the D3a, SBD and JU-88...Hell even the AR234, but I understand it was used for recon....

Okay thats my rant about the A-20 (which I am 100% correct about)...

This is a flaw, and HITECH and Skuzzy are undoubetdly aware of it...please fix!

plz do fix that htc. I would love to just take an A20 up as a fighter, or to just gun down bases with 50cals.

It's been stated before..

The A20 is a bomber/attacker. Not a fighter/bomber. The planes that have "no bomb" loads are those that really had them. SBDs could be used for recon, sub hunting, you name it. Ju88 just has a coincidental "no bomb" load -- you need to be able to mix and match, and if somebody really wants they can "match" two empty loadouts. That doesn't mean it can *do* jack once it's taken off.

The A-20 is primarily a bomber. It just flies like a fighter.

That's what you want. You want fighters enabled after the FH is down. That's the only reason you want this. Well why not have fighters launch from the VH?? Why not have bombers launch from the VH too?! Because then bombing the hangars doesn't mean anything.

This is, first and foremost, a game. The A20 cannot take off without ord precisely because it is categorized as a bomber. If it were categorized as a fighter/attack you'd still not get it, because FH are the first thing to go down.

If you really really want base defense with a "bomber" aircraft, take up the IL2. No aircraft in the game beats this bugger for stopping base taking at the last second. Take off, HO everything in sight. Die. Rinse. Repeat.

Never mind.

The point is it's a game. There has to be lines drawn somewhere. Most level bombers (save for the Ju88) have to carry bombs. The A20G is a converted level bomber. For bombers to take off without ord would mean they are not bombers. I'm sure HTC had a logical reason (or set of them) when they made that decision.

The solid-nose B25 wouldn't have a bombsight either. It would very much be a bomber. The A26 wouldn't have one either. It would very much be a bomber.

Just because something has a nose full of guns doesn't mean those are the primary weapon. The primary weapon of bombers will always be bombs.

i think the point is.. it can fly without ords.. and should be allowed to flown with the option to carry no ords .. there is no rule that says that it has to carry bombs to take off .. when they where transfered from production line to the bases did they have bombs in them .. NO yet they took off just fine..

Okay if the ords at the base you want to take off from are down,,, use another base. If the ords are down that usually means the base is under attack. If the base is under attack why the hell would you want to roll a bomber from there anyway? Unless you wanted to roll a buff in an attempt to use it as a flack wagon. If thats the case that may be the reason HTC has the game programed so bombers can't take off with the ord down. If you really want to fly something un-armed grab a C-47 with supplies fly to the base that has no ords and re-supply it and solve the problem.

actually flying it as a flak wagon is what i want to do .. there no reason other then it forces you put bombs on the thing for it to take off.. which is really bogus.. it doesnt need bombs to fly .. just gas and engines and a pilot.
