I cant belive this.

Apparently we had the Taliban Leader Muhammed Omar's car in our sights and were tracking him ready to fire missles, then some whoopee CIA lawyers came in and "raised legal concerns" about killing him. So we werent able to do it, when it was finally cleared up Omar was no longer accesible to our weapons.

Didn't happen that way GRUN, it's argueable whether or not the timing was right, but the right people asked the right questions when they needed to be asked. Trust me on that, otherwise there'd be a General or two suddenly collecting retirement checks for no apparent good reason.

The Taleban would have no problem finding a replacement for that doofus.

Our side has allready lost Massoud and Haq, the Taliban should loose some top "morale" figures as well, and soon.

Yeah, I have to look up the family tree thing, it goes back 400 years to the 1600's..but somewhere theres 'Pennsylvania Dutch' in there, which basically is in around the area of Belgium, so I thought I'd throw that in to make you feel good Saw.

I think the point the veteran pilot was making is that even if the military is decent and capable its efficiency is negated by ignorant leadership.

But the quote still fits to the original context of this thread ie. potent US military force is hampered by ill political decisions.

I think the quote from the veteran is quite fitting and thats why I did use it.
