BMW's do not have those qualities, their reliability for little things like rattles, aux fans, etc. are questionable, but the sports steering that they are famous for, the acceleration and rear wheel drive overcome the pitfalls of them. In other words, if you want dependable transportation, buy a Honda (everyone owns 2) but if you want a truly enjoyable driving experience on a twisty road or the track, Get a Bimmer.
MrFish, I researched the mechanical aspect too. Here, the Ford dealership charges $78/hr for labor, BMW charges $80. Wow, 2 bucks an hour difference! Parts
are about 20% more than domestic auto parts, but I can live with that...my long term plan is to own this to 50,000 (or 5 years) then upgrade to a 330 hp M3.

Time to start saving again.
