Ship Sim will be like Flight Sim; no combat.
A Rook who first flew 09/26/03 at the age of 13, has been a GL in 10+ Scenarios, and was two-time Points and First Annual 68KO Cup winner of the AH Extreme Air Racing League.

note that ship simulator 2006 Isn't a microsoft sim dont be fooled by the look of the packaging.

Its made by a dutch company called 'Vstep'  and the publisher (in europe) Lighthouse interactive seems to have used a very similar design in thier fonts and things so it does resemble a microsoft sim.

but no guns still.

Something that does ships up to first rate ships of the line would be cool.

Any good sims for this stuff?

Even an old one would be cool.

This one is kinda like   Subspace meets  SeaBattle from Intellivision.

Navy Field

You can play till level 30 without paying. It allows you to check out Destroyer battles.

I have a friend thats addicted to it.
They stay pretty true to the real ships other than the German fleet  which they need to create fictional ships  to make it compete.

ie: aircraft carriers with stuka bombers, JU-88 torpedo bombers, and 190 & 109 fighters.

I've been keeping my eye on this one.  Looks like it will have some good ship battles but it also might just be another WoW, Warcraft on Water.

But I guess that's not all bad if your into that kind of thing.

Do they give you an option to sail to canada to attack and plunder canadians and then sail back to a seedy dock tavern to drink beer and buy potatos?

I have pirates and I have been playing it on and off since it came out. I am at the point that once I get a frigate, even on the harder levels, its just super easy.

I want more detail too.

The ship of the line in Pirates is just a 48 gun frigate lol.

i always go steal a brig of war from a main pirate right off the bat .. then keep it well maned,,  shure its not the most guns but its speed and manuverability makes up for it .    swashbuckler mode is harder then hell though ... ya cant fight and cant dance ...

'Tortuga - Pirates of the new world'  is like a cross between Dope wars or any other simple trading game, and a really fun cartoon style Battle game with ships.

you get to captain your ship sail the carribean fighting or trading. You can play the righteous admiral and do missions for spain, england, holland or even the froggies, or you can just rape pilage and plunder everyone and hope to capture enough vesslels to defend yourself after you steal thier Gold convoy of 3 galleons and 3 small baraques.......hmmm i digress a little.

anyhow its good for wasting a few hours every now and then and full of stats and scores and tactical descisions, you could pick it up online or in store for about $8 maximum. or if you use file share just search for 'Tortuga'

if they are red xs right click and 'show image' or follow the link at bottom.
