BF110-G2 arial rocks range!
« on: July 23, 2006, 11:31:08 AM »
after seeming years of off and on intrest in the german Flak-Rockets, I found the recipe for making em explode within bomber formations.

So far head on attacks have been completly pointless, and trying to fire a rocket into an airplane during its burn faze hadnt been working either
This morning though one of the ffa pilots kept upping bombrs and I was able to get on his six co-alt and just barely overtaking him... I suggest firing all four in one pass just slightly above siteline to the bombers, from the 6 O clock position begining at D800 through D 700,
Varying clossing speeds have everything to do with when the rockets actualy burst, but for the 110 this has been working for me. hope this helps out, as I had been bugging people and it seemd like no one really knew. vaugly the range is D1000 but since there are 3 moving object it all really depends on the overtake speed so I fire at 800, through 700. and it usualy kills all 3 of em...its really a site to see three b17's just go POOF like that, and yes I was yelling like the proverbial school girl.

See you in the unfriendly skies!

the rockets have a range of 1.4km. So firing them at 800-700 is pointless, when your 30mm will have a MUCH better chance at this close of a range.

1.4km against a stationary target, or one moving away from the point at which the rocket was fired?

1.4 for a fixed ground target i would think, but the air to air thing is complicated by clossing speed, angle off, etc. etc. etc.

firing with a .50 sec delay whilst clossing in allows a little better pattern, still practicing to get repeatable results though...:)

not that the rocks are any better I just get bored and want to try new things, of course the 30mm's are more practicle, but what fun is that?

With both speeds equal (both target and attacker) the range is 1.4k

I did tests some time back with two 110Gs, both flying the same speed. Tests were done at sea level

Wow thats just wierd, i cant seem to get them to burst at D1.4, farthest away so far has been D800, and the closest was in the hi 600's but i belive that one was a direct hit, ill keep plugging away, though everyone in ffa seems to be catching on to what im trying lol.

If you get enough practice and get it down you can hit sets of buffs with them. One well placed one into the back of a set of lancs from thier 6 will take out the lead bombers tail and the inner wingtips of the drones... awfuly funny :D
I have also hit bombers with the rockets on the C-Hog a few times... the things you do when your out of ammo!  :rofl

How do you do it? Do you have to be perfectly level with the formation or what? And the 109 G14. Are those AA or AtG rockets? Anyone know?
