I think the historically most accurate pack would be Waffles.

However, the best sounding for the aesthetics is Mitsu for most people.

I don't like Mitsu's. I don't like Waffles'.

I've sort of got a mixture of several sound packs running at the moment, mixed with some default sounds as well. It includes some sounds from a few different packs.

For me, I like engine sounds, gun sounds, and a few other odds and ends. I don't like gear, wheel, or flap sounds to be screwed with. I've played aroudn with damage sounds -- this is one area I really don't like Mitsu's or Waffle's packs. Individually they're "okay" but when you actually fly with 'em they hurt more than help. I'm trying some mixed sounds that include defaults and some of (I think) Waffle's sounds. Not 100% happy, but it's a work in progress.

I rather like Sketch's gun sounds (for the most part), but they're too loud. If I can be arsed  to lower the levels on all of them I might mix them into my current bastardized sound pack.

One area that's hard to be happy with is engine sounds. Some packs have sounds that warble up and down, and then loop, so that they go  vvrrrrroOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOoo oooOOOOOOoooom

it gets annoying right about the time you need to pull your gear up :lol

Some are less noticable than others, sure, but a lot have this. I like the more steady drone.

Guyver, tell ya what, let me play around for a few days (I want to try a few things, add some take some off) but then I'll zip what I've got and send it to you, if you like. Consider it "another sound pack" to see if you like or not.

Just a way of showing what choices I've made over a time period.

That's an easy fix..............

Turn down your volume.... :D

Actually, just do like I do bro, turn down the guns in the game itself.  My engine is running at like 30% sound so I can hear people as well as other planes sneaking up on you! :t   My guns on the other hand I have cranked up a bit.... it just sounds meaner!!  :t

Normally I do have the engines and guns turned down a bit. I've got my sound levels tweaked in-game. However after I installed your sounds it was so loud I couldn't hear VOX transmissions during missions, etc. Had to drop it way down just to have it at "normal" -- not sure if this is something weird with me, or what.

I do like those gun sounds, though. They added a nice spice to combat.

i just wish you could control the volume level of each item on each plane. so if your using sounds (such as fruda's) that are quieter overall  than mitsu, waffle, or default you could change that specific plane's engine's volume level. i know this would be alot of new coding, but its possible. i'm not puting this out as a wish eather, i know this will never happen, its just not worth the time and money spent to make it like that.

Thats strange Krusty. For me, the sounds were a little more intruding then what im used to from Waffle pack, but not OVERLY loud.

You know you can tune down game sounds during Vox transmissions with the "Effect Volume" slider?

I've got that turned down a lot, as well Schatzi. However, the VOX seems set at a level, so even if I turn down the effects all the way, to hear vox, I still lose hearing when the engine sounds play again when the vox ends! :)

That's why I had to turn it down a lot more than I normally do.

Like I said, I don't know if it was something with my setup or not. It could have been something outside of AH, even. That's just how it worked on Saturday.
