New Clip-Board Option.
« on: August 01, 2006, 11:07:28 AM »
I know this sounds weird, and it's a long shot. Yet too many people in "8 Player" complain about not knowing which games are playing. And they don't want to give up their spot in the current arena just incase everything else out there is much more boring than what they are playing.

So, I suggest HTC makes a new option on the clipboard named "Scan Arenas". It opens a new window, almost the same as the roster. And it scans the "8-Player" lobby for which games are playing. The users would not be able to join the game from the arena istelf, it would just give them a window to see what's going on.

Here's an example I made:

Forgive the low editing technique, I use MS Paint.

That would be handy if it scanned the main arenas....

If your in the MA and get board you can findout whats happening in the AVA or DA

Would be nice if it showed you how many players are online for each side

Arena          Knights     Rooks     Bish
Main Arena        15         50       80
AVA
DA
TA
SEA

You get the idea

Yes exactly. And you have a few options to go from "Arena Scan" mode to "Player Scan" mode. Such as what you just mentioned. To where you select an arena, select "Player Scan". And it tells you how many players are on which side. Would come in handy if you don't want to leave your position on your team and arena.

Welll....maybe you are?  :lol

I find myself thinking of the cost/benefit ratio. It's not a bad feature by any means, but is it worth the cost in $ (HTCs coders arent free) and time (further delay in CT)? Honestly may not be worth it......

I like it. I hate being in a room thats not fun leave the arena to see if any other H2H rooms our open and my spot gets taking, and theres no more free rooms. For the H2H main menu and the Online main menu could we have a refresh botton to refresh the servers and see if the room we want to get in is open when we hit refresh. Most games have this.

People, not to be overly blunt here....but you're asking HiTech to spend HIS money to develop a (nice) feature that doesnt improve his business. It makes the FREE segment of the game more convenient, not even better to play.

That's not fair to HTC. Dont hold your collective breaths....

Simaril, whats so costly about making a script that connects to the HTC servers through your arena? All it does is open a new window that browses the lobby (server) for 8-Player and MA Arenas. It doesent allow you to connect straight to the arena!
