I spent one hour of reading this Vanityfair article about the NORAD recordings of the 9/11 and how it unfolded to them. Its very interesting read and takes about one hour. It is not politically motivated, just pinpoints what happens when military is caught off-guard, it doesent go like in movies. The FAA operators might call to CNN before they even think calling to NORAD..

You really need to listen to the audio portion of the article as well. It just is not the same without it.
