A few more truck questions.

Ok #1.

After I run the Air Conditioner for awhile, on max it's quicker then low.

I get a hum from the Air Filter compartment.

This has been confirmed because when I pop the airfilter lid the hum is louder.

I heard this sound from another Ford Vehicle aswell on the highway, so it's gotta be something with the ford model. My vehicle is a Mazda 1998 B4000 (Ford Ranger V6).

I left it at the mechanics (CarMax) for a week while on vacation and they couldn't get it to make the noise.

#2.

I want to wire some additonal lights to the dimmer switch/cab/dome light switch inside.

I was wondering what all would be required to run some lights (LED) to this switch so that when I turn on the inside dome light the LED's turn on aswell. (These are just for fun, those LED Windshield Wiper Sprayers, figured the chrome looked good on the truck and the LED's would be fun to play with at night. Off Road of course.)

#3.

How much would a cap on the bed of a truck reduce the MPG and Acceleration?

Dude, get rid of that piece of junk and get yourself a dumbtruck.  ;)
Do not attribute to malice what can be easily explained by incompetence, fear, ignorance or stupidity, because there are millions more garden variety idiots walking around in the world than there are blackhearted Machiavellis.

#1 Your A/C fan is probably blowing faster to cool it more, check to see if you have 1 or 2 fans.

#2 Not really sure, sorry

#3 Seems to me as though it'd make very little difference, it should be more streamlined (ever see bed covers on trucks?) except for the gap between the cab and the bed, but it's heavier so you might end up the same with or without.

The cap should not effect your milage much at all. If anything, it reduces drag. The hum is probably nothing to worry about.

As far as adding lights, I'd reccomend putting them on a seperate circuit.

Oh, and by no means get a Chevy unless you are a masochist. They are craptastic.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Mythbusters did a show on whether driving with the tailgate down vs up made any difference.  Tailgate down was if anything worse.

A bubble forms in the bed and smooths the airflow as it moves over the bed.  The bubble builds a kind of dynamic fastback effect.

I could be that a canopy replaces the fastback bubble with a fiberglass squareback block and could actually reduce effeciency.

Hyundai makes a better car than any of the US makers.  Go down to Hertz and try a Sonata LX
