I want to be able to drop mines from a bomber.

Make them patrol with PT boats to clear them. They float and and can be shot by PTs, 20mm, or 5" on the task force. Hows that sound.

Just to limit the use of them, charge bomber perkies for them.

Really, I just found this cool pic and it gave me the idea...

Are u trying to find other ways to Blow up our CVs? If i already wasnt sittin on a CV dodging 200,000 Lbs of Bombs every 10 minutes i wouldnt complain but MINES...........NO.........WA Y........

I love the idea, a way to have a passive defense from CV's. The mines can be coded to only last 15 minutes or so, and can randomly spread out as they would in a real current.

Mines ONLY worked in very small areas, like straits or harbors. They were NOT open water devices. The odds of hitting a mine in the open sea (despite the bad 50s movies you might have seen) were a billion to 1.
