Black Hurri
« on: August 07, 2006, 10:35:02 AM »
I was reading through the forum the other day when I found a request for a black Hurricane. This gave me an idea and although not at 2c, I made a black Hurri 1. Would appreciate your input on it. It is only my second skin so apologizes in advance if it is terrible. Some screenies.

I'd have a better chance in running into a Dodo Bird in the middle of rush hour, walking down the I-5 with two hookers in tow before I see a useful post from glock89- Ack-Ack

i guess you used  someting like ms paint?

you need to try  using photo shop or paintshop pro or  gimp  that way  you can do things in layers and any mistake can easily be changed.

If you havent used  ta program like this  i would advise u too,i know you can get gimp for free  and i know psp9 has something like  a 60 day sample use.

I dont like to be negitive  but from the screen shots  it doesnt look so good the letters  are not loking right or the roundels  and  cant see any panel lines.

what  did u use to make this?

Actually i used Photoshop 5. Its only my second skin so im not surprised to hear that its bad. Things can be easily altered so i'll go back and try the roundels again. The letters were done by hand and not copied so thats why they look wonky and a bit , well, Terrible. Anything else? Panel lines- since its black im not sure how to make the panel lines stand out. Id appreciate help with this

ok    the lettering you should be able to do in photoshop  there should be a tool that does letters  there is  a good site  that kev had  a link to for all the fonts and you can download markings  and roundels.
i think its  simmers  shop or something http://www.simmerspaintshop.com

something like that.
the panel lines you can get  a profile from ahskins then copy it  put it on your skin as a different layer and lighten it,then u can use opacity  to make it less viable till it looks right

Keep in mind you are skinning a Hurri I with a historical Hurri IIc paint scheme.

BE500 LK-A is a very well known bird.

If you want to take it further and be accurate, here's a well known Black Hurricane I from the same squadron flown by Ian Gleed, the CO of 87 Squadron.

A photo of the bird in the profile.  With the red trim it looks better anyway :)
