what i have wondered for a long time now is, why they call it IDF?
At the end its just a force, a millitary like any other.
And since we all now they can and use is for attacking too, should it be called IAF ?
Why not call it simple IF ? ;)

IAF is already used for Israel Air Force ... my guess is they run out of of abreviations.
