only problem one would have with buying a plane is that cost as much as a house.

i can see it now.

"honey, we're selling the house to buy a plane."

I have a hard time looking at a C-172/C-182...and seeing it worth $150,000 (or whatever atrocious price they are)

Ya know?

I like the planes and all...I just dont see that price.

Asides a crap load of liability insurance and all, I dont see why they cost so much

Think of it as a retirement investment Mustaine.  If you buy a big enough one, you CAN sell your house for it, and live out of the plane.  Just an idea.

The last new 182 bought at my airport ran $350,000.  Of course it had
a full glass cockpit and leather interior..but holy cow!.

Grandfather owns seven airplanes.

None of them are newer than 1974. :P

I don't see how three fill-ups is much of an incentive.
