as far as my understanding, it can take up to four seconds for you to recieve data about an enemy player either "comes into range" or "spawns"
this works fine if you are flying around and see a "dot" - when the dot gets to within 6000 meters it might take anywhere between 1 - 4 seconds before you get high incriment updates such as position, altitude, etc. Normally this delay won't cause any problems except in the folowing circumstances:
A) if you are spawn camping a VH, it might take up to 4 seconds after the enemy spawns for you to see him - enough time for him to get a turrent turned on you
B) flying 600mph towards a dot that's flying 500mph towards you, a 4 second delay will cause that dot to turn into a P51 that's suddenly 3K above you and only 3000 meters away (this happens to me when I fly a 262 - the closure speeds can be such that what *was* a dot suddly warps into a enemy plane that's quite close
I would like to see if HT could change to high resolution polling update to abotu half of what it is. heck, even now when I go to an airfield that's attacked by an enemy I might have to sit in the tower for 5-10 seconds before I can start getting data about the enemy planes in the airspace. An airfield that looks quiet can suddenly fill with enemy aircraft as the updates finally start coming in.
