Apparantly I have developed an umbilical hernia :(

Tomorrow I see the Doc .. hope I can get into surgery fairly quickly.

It's outpatient surgery these days, they lay a mesh in and yer up an around that afternoon if all goes well .. return to full duty in 2 weeks or less depending on rate of healing.

Bad news is .. as new VA employee, I don't have 2 weeks of leave earned, and apparantly can't take advance leave .. good news is .. I can afford to take a coupla weeks off if I have to .. been savin for a 'Vette :)
The VA will let me take leave without pay when I use up what I have to date.
I'll still have my job when I heal up.

Just have to put off the Vette for another month or so.

I may have to work on my gunnery, here, a bit more :)

I HATE havin to take time off from takin care of my patients .. could not ask for a better way to spend my day than bein there for these people :(

Good luck GE, and take care of yourself. My buddy's wife is a nurse at the Alvin C. York VA center here, and she loves her patients. She looked after Dad for a while.
