stupid question reference clipboard
« on: August 16, 2006, 04:59:51 AM »
Hey,
Kinda new to this but I have one thing that is driving me nuts.  The secondary clipboard page won't stop fricking spinning, if it does stop, its sideways and such.  I have looked for options and in forums and I can't find anything.  Can anyone help me out here.
Thanks.

AMD Dual Core? See this thread in the Hardware & Software forum, might solve your problem.

I have no solution, but a temporary fix is running AH in Win98 compatibility mode.

I would like to say thanks for the quick replies, its nice to get emails stating that I have a reply waiting.  Sadly tho I don't feel comfortable adjusting my system.  I like the game and am not bashing anything but I am wondering if there is a future fix in the making by chance so maybe down the road I can get into the game.
Thanks

jynx, running AH in compatibility mode doesnt change anything at all in your system Its completely safe from a Windows point of view.

All you need to do is find the Aceshigh.exe file in your game installation (defaul is C:\HTC\Aces High II\aceshigh.exe). Right click the file and select properties - go to the Compatibility mode and just check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for" (select Win98 in the dropdown box). Then click OK to close the Properties.

This *only* affects how Windows works with AH, *nothing* else.

You might also want to search this BBS for "Duo Core". there have been many posts regarding these processors with fixes for various issues.

One I do remember is folks saying that you must shut off or tell the system not to use the other core. Not sure how that is done so I would look it up.

Understand, this isn't something that needs to be "fixed" per say. The game does not support Duo-core from a design standpoint.

There are many people running AH on duo-core systems very successfully.

I would also search for spinning clipboard as I remember seeing that also
